Alaskan Sockeye Salmon, wild-caught and freshly canned in Ketchikan, Alaska.

Sockeye salmon is exceptionally rich in omega-3 fatty acids, specifically EPA and DHA, which are crucial for maintaining heart health by reducing inflammation, lowering blood pressure, and decreasing risk factors for disease. It’s a high-quality protein source (approx. 46 grams of protein per can!) which helps to repair tissue, protect bone health, and maintain muscle mass.

Sockeye is packed with essential vitamins and minerals, and is an excellent source of several B vitamins (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, and B12), which are necessary for energy production, controlling inflammation, and protecting heart and brain health. Also a good source of vitamin D, crucial for bone health and immune function, and selenium, important for thyroid and hormonal health. Sockeye salmon also contains astaxanthin, a powerful antioxidant that gives the fish its distinctive red color. Astaxanthin has been linked to reduced risk of heart disease by improving the elasticity of blood vessels, reducing inflammation, and combating oxidative stress.

It’s very low in mercury, making it a safe choice for regular consumption, especially for pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and children.

Choosing wild-caught Alaskan sockeye salmon not only supports a healthy diet but also promotes sustainable fishing practices. Alaska’s fisheries are well-managed to ensure the long-term health of salmon populations and their natural habitat.

I have been buying Tuna from Oregon’s Choice for over 15 years. Until recently I was buying a name brand Sockeye Salmon, but decided to try Oregon’s Choice to see if it was better. Without a doubt it is far superior. I love it straight out of the can.

I LOVE this salmon. Nothing can compare! I wouldn’t eat any other brand. I love the skin + give the bones to my dog. Cooked in its own juice. What more could you ask for? Right out of the can or with some Veganaise. Mmmmm!

Delicious product as are all the products from Oregon’s Choice. I often open a can over a bed of chopped lettuce for lunch.

I love this beautiful colored salmon in my salads. My doctor gave me the Oregon Choice Website as he asked me to quit eating my regular grocery store Salmon. He personally had Oregon Choice tested and eats it exclusively himself. He was worried about the mercury content I was getting in my grocery store Salmon. The quality and taste are so superior that I’ve never gone back. To this day, Dr. Bergen will randomly test this product every 12-18 months and let’s his patients know in his newsletter that it’s still safe! The same is true of their tuna which is so good also! Been a customer for years!!!

SueAnna asked me to try this because I had stayed away from sockeye in the past. I love the deep red color- indicative of its health properties, I read. The best point is that I was not overwhelmed by skin and bones. Nice surprise.
